Central Florida

Beyond the Theme Parks

With so many world renown parks in the Central Florida area and so many choices, including Disney World, Sea World, Universal Studios, Legoland, Busch Gardens Tampa and Kennedy Space Center, what do the locals REALLY do?

With Orlando centrally located between the two coasts, locals take advantage of the current cultural events, recreational activities, and immerse in Florida’s extensive historical heritage. This book identifies 120 locations within 100 miles of Orlando each costing between free and $20, which is less than the parking fees at the well known attractions. This book is for you - the lifelong resident, the newly arriving resident, the tourist, the business traveler, and the short term seasonal resident enjoying the mild winter. The book is for everyone.

FAQ
I downloaded the program and it won’t open. What program do I need to read the book?
This primarily is a Microsoft issue, but the fix is easy.  Windows, even the current version 11, doesn’t come ready to read .epub files and doesn’t know which program to open. If you read other Ebooks, then shouldn’t be an issue as Windows gained the instruction as it opened the other Ebooks. For the first occurrence, you will see a pop-up window asking what program to use. Ignore the suggested programs as none of them will work, but there is a secondary link “Go To Microsoft Store.” At the store there will be several free programs for .epub reader, choose the one with good reviews and you like the look of, download and install. Windows will know in the future to use that program with any .epub file.

Apple comes with an .epub reader with books stored in the Books folder so typically not an issue. Sometimes when trying to launch from where downloaded to - desktop or download folder - a pop-up may occur asking if want to open in Books. As a suggestion, if the file was downloaded to desktop or the Download folder, in Finder, drag and drop the file to Books. The other advantage with it in the Books folder, iCloud will update the Books folder in other devices making the Ebook available on each device.
